What is a candle wick trimmer?

Why should you trim a candle wick?

How do you use a wick trimmer?
- Make sure the candle is fully extinguished and the wax has cooled.
- Remove any wick debris or other foreign material from the wax surface.
- Trim the wick to approximately 5–6 mm, or follow the instructions for your specific candle.
- Wipe the trimmer blade after use.
Important: never trim a wick while the candle is burning or the wax is still hot.
Can you use ordinary scissors instead?
Yes. If the wick is easy to reach, ordinary scissors can do the same basic job. The advantage of a wick trimmer is convenience: it is designed specifically for reaching into candle vessels and becomes especially useful as the wax level gets lower.
